Kids’ Martial Arts Classes for Highgate Families

Looking for martial arts for your child in Highgate? London Taekwondo Panthers teaches Olympic Taekwondo to children aged 4 to 17 every Friday afternoon at St Andrew's Church, Whitehall Park, a short hop down the hill from Highgate. Every class is taught by a 5th Dan Black Belt, and the first one is free.

Martial Arts Near Highgate

A FRIDAY CLASSWORTH THE SHORT TRIP.

Highgate has no shortage of after-school activities, but parents tell us they struggle to find a martial arts class that is properly coached, genuinely welcoming to beginners and run by someone who knows every child by name.

That is exactly what we set out to build. Our club meets every Friday afternoon in the main hall at St Andrew's Church in Whitehall Park, N19. For most Highgate families that is one stop on the Northern line, a short bus ride down Archway Road, or a few minutes in the car.

We teach Taekwondo, the Olympic martial art known for its fast, athletic kicking. Classes mix fitness, technique, patterns (poomsae) and carefully controlled partner work, so children get a proper workout while learning focus, self-control and respect.

Children train in two age groups, so a four-year-old and a fourteen-year-old never share the same drills. Beginners are welcome at any point in the year, and parents can stay and watch.

Why Highgate Parents Choose Us

WHAT YOUR CHILDTAKES HOME.

Taekwondo gives children something a lot of activities don't: a clear path of goals, a coach who holds them to a standard, and a group that cheers them on.

01

Confidence That Shows

Belt by belt, children prove to themselves they can learn hard things. Parents notice it at school and at home.

02

Focus for the School Week

Listening, following instructions and controlling their bodies are trained every single session.

03

Real Fitness

Kicking, footwork and drills build flexibility, balance and stamina that carry into every other sport.

04

Safe, Structured Self-Defence

Children learn how to stay calm, keep distance and protect themselves, always taught with control.

This is an excellent taekwondo club! The instructor, Chaneil, is highly qualified and has competed in very high levels previously. He takes time to plan his lessons accordingly to maximise the benefit it has on students. I have been taking my daughter to the classes since it opened and she is really enjoying it at the moment. I have seen a big improvement in her self-discipline although she is still very young. I cannot have better words to say about this club and I would definitely recommend it to others who are thinking of taking their children to do a martial arts.
